Legal Advocacy Services
Championing Justice and Ethics Fearlessly (and outside the confines of the insular legal profession)
The New Jersey Lawyers Association is not a law firm and we are not lawyers. We are an independent consumer rights advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the public from problems within the legal system.
We help individuals who have experienced issues with attorneys, judges, court staff, or other participants in the justice system. Our role is to empower consumers with information, guidance, and advocacy when the system fails to protect them.
Why Independent Advocacy Matters
The legal profession has long claimed it can regulate itself. Unfortunately, repeated scandals prove otherwise. Cases like the massive fraud and misconduct involving prominent California attorney Tom Girardi — along with other high-profile ethics violations, client thefts, and judicial controversies across the country — demonstrate that self-policing is not enough. When lawyers and judges fail to uphold their ethical duties, ordinary people need a strong, independent voice on their side.
What We Provide
- Guidance on complaints against attorneys for misconduct, negligence, or ethical violations
- Support for judicial misconduct issues and court system problems
- Resources and education to help consumers understand their rights when dealing with lawyers and the courts
- Advocacy and navigation assistance for those facing barriers in the legal system
- Public awareness campaigns highlighting systemic issues that affect access to justice
We work exclusively for consumers — never for attorneys or law firms. Our only goal is to help New Jersey residents hold the legal system accountable and obtain fair treatment.
If you’ve had a bad experience with a lawyer, a judge, or the court system and feel you have nowhere else to turn, we are here to help. Contact us to learn how we can assist you.
